Absentee Ballots

 

Who can vote Absentee?
  Any qualified elector may vote an absentee ballot for an election.
       
How to Request an Absentee Ballot?
By completing an Absentee Ballot Application and mailing it to:
      Union County Board of Elections

By calling the Board of Elections at 937-642-2836 and requesting an Absentee Ballot Application be mailed to you

By mailing a letter to the Board of Elections with the following information:
    1) Voter’s Name
    2) Address at which the voter is registered to vote
    3) Date of Birth
    4)

Voter’s signature (May not be signed by Power of Attorney unless voter has an Attorney in Fact form filed with the Board of Elections).

    5) One of the following:
      a) Voter’s drivers license number
      b) Last 4 digits of the voter’s Social Security Number
      c)

A copy of the voter’s current and valid photo Id, a copy of a military id that shows the voter’s name and current address, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows voter’s name and current address.

    6) Election for which the Absentee Ballot is requested for.
    7) A statement that the voter requesting the ballot is a qualified elector.
    8) If a request for a Primary Election, the voter’s party affiliation.
    9) Address where the ballot is to be sent if different than the voter’s address.

 

Please print and sign your request. If more than one voter in a household requests a ballot, we must have the signature and above information for each person.
 

Mail-in absentee ballot request must be received by the Saturday before an election at 12 Noon (see specific dates below).
 

2008 Mail-in Application Deadlines

November 4th General Election                             Saturday November 1st by 12:00 Noon
* Elections only held when necessary.
 

All absentee ballots must be returned to our office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to count. Exceptions are out-of -country civilian or out-of-country military absentee ballots which must be signed and postmarked by Election Day and received by our office within ten days after the Election unless it is a Presidential Primary Election then the ballots must be returned prior to the twenty-first day after the Election.
 

Each voter who will be outside the United States on the day of the election shall check the box on the return envelope indicating this fact.
 

Absentee Ballots maybe hand delivered to the Board Office by the voter or by a relative of the voter.
